“Animal Portrait Classes” with Jeanne Marler. $150.00+HST
4 Classes from 1:00-4:00pm. Must register by June 27th. No drop in.
All Art Materials included to create a 12”x16” portrait of your pet in acrylic paint
Participants must bring: Lots of photographs of the animal to be painted (Not all photographs give enough ‘information’ to be able to be used to create a painting)
Participants will be taught the basics of tone (shading), colour and composition in these four three hour classes. These basics are the backbone to creating an interesting painting and will help participants, no matter their level of expertise, to gain the confidence to realize their goals. Students will be encouraged to explore and enhance their own personal expression in the creation of this animal portrait.
Personalized attention and course notes
Explanation of Tone (Tone does all the work. Colour gets all the credit)
Exploration of colour, including Colour Wheel and Complementary colours
Discussion of how to plan a painting for maximum impact: transposing photo information onto canvas, the golden point, choice of colour palette, use of mirror
